Department of Marxism
The Department of Marxism Education (the Department), formerly known as the Marxism Leninist Teaching and Research Section, was separated from the Department of Public Basic Education on November 21, 2019 as a secondary teaching department. At present, there are three teaching and research sections under the Department: Basic and Principles Teaching and Research Section, Outline of Modern Chinese History (including Introduction to Guizhou Province) Teaching and Research Section, Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics (including Situation and Policy) Teaching and Research Section. The Department has a faculty of over 20 full-time and part-time teachers with reasonable structure of age, academic degrees, and professional titles, responsible for ideological and political theory curriculum of all the undergraduates. The Department attaches great importance to the construction of ideological and political courses with characteristics, insisting on promoting teaching and research through scientific research. The full-time teachers have published 13 papers in journals above the provincial level, presided and completed 1 project of the Department of Education of Guizhou Province, 2 projects of Guizhou Federation of Social Sciences, and are conducting 1 project of teaching content and curriculum system reform of universities in Guizhou Province, 5 school level projects, and 6 Party construction projects of Moutai Group and its subsidiaries. According to the questionnaire and the feedback from the forum between teachers and students, all kinds of ideological and political courses offered by the Department are popular among students.
